PLANT DESCRIPTION & MATURE SIZE

The Belle of Georgia Peach Tree is a heirloom white-fleshed peach variety known for producing large, juicy peaches with a sweet, mild flavor. Ripening in mid to late summer, this freestone peach is excellent for fresh eating, baking, and preserving. With showy pink spring blossoms and dependable fruit production, the Belle of Georgia Peach Tree is a favorite for home orchards in warm and moderate climates.

GROWTH RATE & MATURE SIZE:

Moderate growth rate; reaches a mature height of 12–15 ft and mature width of 12–15 ft

WATERING & SUNLIGHT

Water deeply once or twice per week during the first growing season. After establishment, provide consistent deep watering during flowering and fruit development. Maintain evenly moist soil but avoid waterlogged conditions. Plant in full sun for optimal fruit production and sweetness. At least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily is recommended.

PLANT CARE & PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

PRUNING:
Prune annually in late winter while dormant. Maintain an open-center canopy to improve airflow, sunlight penetration, and fruit quality.

FERTILIZING:
Apply a balanced fruit tree fertilizer in early spring before new growth begins. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can reduce fruit production.

WINTER PROTECTION:
Mulch around the base to protect roots in colder zones. Late spring frosts may damage blossoms, so planting in a slightly protected location can help preserve fruit set.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and plant at the same depth as the container. Gently loosen roots before backfilling with native soil. Water thoroughly and apply mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch several inches away from the trunk. Continue regular watering during the first growing season to establish a healthy root system.

USDA GROW ZONE:

Zones 5-8

Belle of Georgia performs best in regions with moderate winters and warm summers. It requires sufficient winter chill to produce fruit and thrives in areas with good airflow and full sun exposure. This variety adapts well across much of the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and parts of the West Coast. In colder regions within its zone range, protecting blossoms from late frost can help preserve fruit yield.

All California orders require a mandatory inspection by the Texas Department of Agriculture (yep, it’s a USDA thing!). These inspections happen about once a week—typically on Tuesdays, though the day can vary. If you place an order just after an inspection, your plant may not ship for several days until the next one. Unfortunately, we’re not able to expedite this part of the process.

Also, due to USDA regulations, we’re unable to ship oak trees, citrus or fruit trees (except olive trees) to California. This rule helps prevent the spread of pests and diseases and applies to nurseries across the country.

Thanks for your patience—we’ll make sure it’s worth the wait.
