PLANT DESCRIPTION & MATURE SIZE

The June Gold Peach Tree is a popular early-season peach variety known for producing large, golden-yellow peaches with a red blush and sweet, juicy flavor. This freestone peach ripens in early summer, making it a favorite for home orchards in warmer climates. With beautiful spring blossoms and reliable fruit production, the June Gold Peach Tree offers both ornamental appeal and delicious harvests.

GROWTH RATE & MATURE SIZE:

Moderate growth rate; reaches a mature height of 12–15 ft and a mature width of 12–15 ft.

WATERING & SUNLIGHT

Water deeply once or twice per week during the first growing season. After establishment, provide regular deep watering, especially during flowering and fruit development. Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Plant in full sun for the best fruit production and sweetest peaches. At least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight is essential.

PLANT CARE & PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

PRUNING:
Prune annually in late winter while the tree is dormant. Maintain an open-center shape to improve airflow and sunlight penetration, which supports fruit quality and reduces disease risk.

FERTILIZING:
Apply a balanced fruit tree fertilizer in early spring before new growth begins. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can encourage foliage growth at the expense of fruit.

WINTER PROTECTION:
In colder parts of its range, protect blooms from late frost if possible. Mulch around the base to protect roots, keeping mulch away from the trunk.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and plant at the same depth as the container. Loosen roots gently, backfill with native soil, and water thoroughly to remove air pockets. Apply mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch several inches away from the trunk. Continue regular watering during the first growing season to establish a strong root system.

USDA GROW ZONE:

Zones 6-9

June Gold Peach Tree performs best in warmer regions with mild winters and hot summers. It requires a moderate winter chill period to set fruit and thrives in areas with good air circulation and full sun exposure. This variety is well suited for southern and southwestern climates. In colder regions near the lower end of its zone range, late spring frosts may impact blooms and fruit production.

All California orders require a mandatory inspection by the Texas Department of Agriculture (yep, it’s a USDA thing!). These inspections happen about once a week—typically on Tuesdays, though the day can vary. If you place an order just after an inspection, your plant may not ship for several days until the next one. Unfortunately, we’re not able to expedite this part of the process.

Also, due to USDA regulations, we’re unable to ship oak trees, citrus or fruit trees (except olive trees) to California. This rule helps prevent the spread of pests and diseases and applies to nurseries across the country.

Thanks for your patience—we’ll make sure it’s worth the wait.
