PLANT DESCRIPTION & MATURE SIZE

Tuscan Blue Rosemary, botanically known as Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Tuscan Blue’, is a fragrant evergreen herb valued for its upright growth habit, culinary uses, and attractive blue flowers. This hardy Mediterranean plant features aromatic needle-like foliage that releases a pleasant scent when brushed or harvested. Popular in herb gardens, containers, and landscape borders, Tuscan Blue Rosemary is both ornamental and edible.

GROWTH RATE & MATURE SIZE:

Moderate growth rate; typically reaches 4–6 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide at maturity.

WATERING & SUNLIGHT

Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, water every 10–14 days during dry periods and allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overly wet soil, as rosemary prefers drier conditions and excellent drainage. Tuscan Blue Rosemary requires full sun for best growth and flavor. At least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day helps maintain dense foliage and strong aroma.

PLANT CARE & PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

PRUNING:
Prune lightly after flowering or harvest regularly to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth.

FERTILIZING:
Rosemary typically requires little fertilization. If needed, apply a light, balanced fertilizer in early spring. Avoid fertilizing for the first 2–3 months after delivery to allow the plant to adjust and establish.

WINTER PROTECTION:
In colder regions, grow rosemary in containers so it can be moved indoors before freezing temperatures arrive.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and the same depth. Place the plant so the top of the root ball sits level with the surrounding soil. Backfill with soil, water thoroughly, and apply a light layer of mulch around the base while keeping it away from the stem.

USDA GROW ZONE:

Zones 8-10

All California orders require a mandatory inspection by the Texas Department of Agriculture (yep, it’s a USDA thing!). These inspections happen about once a week—typically on Tuesdays, though the day can vary. If you place an order just after an inspection, your plant may not ship for several days until the next one. Unfortunately, we’re not able to expedite this part of the process.

Also, due to USDA regulations, we’re unable to ship oak trees, citrus or fruit trees (except olive trees) to California. This rule helps prevent the spread of pests and diseases and applies to nurseries across the country.

Thanks for your patience—we’ll make sure it’s worth the wait.
