Moderate growth rate. Typically grows to 12–18 inches tall and 12–24 inches wide at maturity.

WATERING & SUNLIGHT

Water lightly and allow the soil to dry out completely between watering. Typically water every 2–3 weeks, though watering frequency may vary depending on climate, soil type, container size, and seasonal conditions. Overwatering should be avoided.

PLANT CARE & PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

PRUNING:
Minimal pruning is required. Remove spent flower stalks and any dried leaves to maintain a clean appearance.

FERTILIZING:
Feed with a light application of succulent fertilizer in spring or early summer if needed. Avoid overfertilizing. Avoid fertilizing for the first 2–3 months after delivery to allow the plant to adjust and establish.

WINTER PROTECTION:
Little Red Riding Hood Aloe is sensitive to freezing temperatures. In cooler climates, grow it in containers and bring indoors during winter.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Plant Little Red Riding Hood Aloe in well-draining soil or cactus mix. Dig a hole just slightly larger than the root ball and place the plant so the base of the leaves sits above the soil line. Backfill gently and water lightly after planting. If planting in a container, choose a pot with drainage holes. Apply a light layer of gravel or mulch around the base to help prevent excess moisture buildup.

USDA GROW ZONE:

Zones 9-11

Little Red Riding Hood Aloe grows best in USDA Zones 9–11 and thrives in warm climates with mild winters. Like most aloes, it prefers well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight. All California orders require a mandatory inspection by the Texas Department of Agriculture (yep, it’s a USDA thing!). These inspections happen about once a week—typically on Tuesdays, though the day can vary. If you place an order just after an inspection, your plant may not ship for several days until the next one. Unfortunately, we’re not able to expedite this part of the process.

Also, due to USDA regulations, we’re unable to ship oak trees, citrus or fruit trees (except olive trees) to California. This rule helps prevent the spread of pests and diseases and applies to nurseries across the country.

Thanks for your patience—we’ll make sure it’s worth the wait.
