Peachy Knock Out® Rose Tree combines the easy-care performance of Peachy Knock Out® Rose with an elegant tree form. Abundant shell-pink flowers with yellow centers create a beautiful peachy display from spring through fall above deep green, semi-glossy foliage.

  • Botanical name: Rosa 'Radgor' PP25,628
  • Bloom time: Spring through fall
  • Deciduous
  • Grown in the USA

SUNLIGHT
Prefers full sun with 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day for the best flowering and overall performance.

WATER
Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil begin to dry, approximately once or twice per week during establishment. Once established, water during extended hot or dry periods and avoid consistently saturated soil. Watering needs vary based on climate, rainfall, soil, sunlight, drainage, and establishment phase.

IDEAL CLIMATE
Best suited for Zones 4–11. Peachy Knock Out® adapts to a wide range of climates, with its most intense flower coloring typically occurring during cooler spring and fall temperatures. Tree-form plants may need additional winter protection in colder regions.

This is the tree form of Peachy Knock Out® Rose. The flowering variety is grown on an upright trunk to create a distinctive miniature-tree appearance. Most new growth occurs within the flowering canopy rather than substantially increasing the height of the trunk.

Because the flowering canopy and graft are elevated above the ground, tree-form roses are more vulnerable to severe winter cold than shrub-form roses and may require additional protection in colder climates.

PLANT DESCRIPTION & MATURE SIZE

Peachy Knock Out® Rose Tree, scientifically known as Rosa 'Radgor' PP25,628, brings the abundant flowering and easy-care performance of Peachy Knock Out® Rose into an elegant tree form. Shell-pink petals with warm yellow centers create an overall peachy appearance, with the richest color typically developing during the cooler temperatures of spring and fall. Its rounded flowering canopy sits above a single upright trunk, making it a beautiful accent for entryways, patios, walkways, garden beds, and decorative containers.

GROWTH RATE & MATURE SIZE:

Moderate growth rate. Reaches approximately 4–5 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide at maturity.

WATERING & SUNLIGHT

Water your newly planted Peachy Knock Out® Rose Tree when the top 2–3 inches of soil begin to dry, typically about once or twice per week during establishment. Once established, water less frequently but provide supplemental water during extended periods of heat or drought. Avoid allowing the root zone to become excessively dry or remain consistently saturated. There is no fixed watering schedule, so always check the soil first and adjust based on climate, rainfall, temperature, sunlight exposure, soil type, drainage, and establishment phase.

Peachy Knock Out® Rose Tree performs best in full sun with 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Plenty of sunlight encourages abundant flowers and healthy canopy growth.

PLANT CARE & PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

PRUNING
Prune in early spring as new growth begins. Remove dead or damaged branches and lightly shape the flowering canopy as needed. Avoid cutting the main trunk or damaging the graft at the top of the tree.

FERTILIZING
Avoid fertilizing for the first 2–3 months after delivery to allow the plant to adjust and establish. Once established, apply a balanced or rose fertilizer in spring or early summer if needed. Avoid fertilizing in fall or winter.

WINTER PROTECTION
Tree-form roses require more winter protection than traditional shrub roses. Apply a 2–3 inch layer of mulch over the root zone, keeping it several inches away from the trunk, and protect the trunk and upper graft during severe winter weather. Extra protection is especially important where winter temperatures fall below approximately 10°F.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Choose a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Dig a hole approximately twice as wide as the root ball but no deeper than the root ball itself. Remove the nursery pot and gently loosen any tightly bound or circling roots. Position the Rose Tree so the top of the root ball sits level with or slightly above the surrounding soil. Keep the trunk and upper graft above the soil line. Backfill using only the native soil removed from the planting hole without adding compost, peat moss, sand, rock, or other amendments directly to the hole. Gently firm the soil and water slowly and deeply throughout the root ball and surrounding soil. Apply a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the root zone, keeping mulch several inches away from the trunk.

Because its flowering canopy sits above a single trunk, staking may be beneficial after planting in windy or exposed locations until the root system becomes established.

USDA GROW ZONE:

Zones 4-11

Peachy Knock Out® Rose grows throughout USDA Zones 4–11, giving it an exceptionally broad climate range. It performs well in sunny temperate and warm climates and develops its most intense peach coloring during cooler spring and fall weather. While the rose variety itself is hardy to Zone 4, tree-form roses require more winter protection than shrub-form roses because the trunk and upper graft are exposed above ground. In areas that experience severe winter cold, protecting the trunk and graft is especially important.

Important: USDA Hardiness Zones only measure a plant's cold tolerance. They do not account for heat tolerance, humidity, rainfall, or other climate factors. Always consider your local growing conditions in addition to your USDA Zone when selecting plants.

Frequently Asked Questions

Peachy Knock Out® Rose Tree typically reaches approximately 4–5 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide in tree form. Exact finished height can vary depending on the height of the trunk onto which the flowering canopy was grafted.

The flowering canopy has a moderate growth rate and can typically produce approximately 12–24 inches of new growth per year under favorable conditions. Because this is a tree-form rose, most new growth occurs within the canopy rather than substantially increasing the height of the trunk.

Plant Peachy Knock Out® Rose Tree in a location receiving 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day with well-draining soil and good air circulation. Its elevated flowering canopy makes it especially attractive near entryways, along walkways, in garden beds, on patios, or as a colorful focal point.

Allow approximately 3–4 feet between plants, center to center, or provide additional room if you want each Rose Tree to remain a distinct specimen. The Peachy Knock Out® variety naturally develops a canopy approximately 3–4 feet wide.

Peachy Knock Out® produces abundant, continuous flowers from spring through fall. It naturally cycles through repeated flushes of flowers throughout the growing season.

The flowers feature shell-pink petals with yellow centers, which combine to give the plant its overall peach-colored appearance. The coloring is typically more intense during the cooler temperatures of spring and fall.

That's normal. Peachy Knock Out® doesn't produce a uniformly peach-colored flower; its pink petals and yellow centers combine visually to create the peach effect. Flower color is also temperature dependent, so the blooms can appear lighter during warmer weather and more intensely colored during cooler spring and fall conditions.

Prune in late winter or early spring as new growth begins. For the tree form, focus on removing dead or damaged growth and shaping the canopy rather than cutting the plant down as you would a shrub-form Knock Out® Rose.

The trunk generally will not continue gaining substantial height like a traditional ornamental tree. Most new growth develops in the flowering canopy, which becomes fuller and wider as the plant matures.

Yes. Its compact tree form makes it an attractive choice for a large outdoor container on a patio, porch, or near an entryway. Use a container with adequate drainage and monitor moisture carefully, since container-grown roses dry out faster and their roots are more exposed to winter cold. Knock Out® Roses can be successfully grown in containers when given sufficient space and sunlight.

All California orders require a mandatory inspection by the Texas Department of Agriculture (yep, it’s a USDA thing!). These inspections happen about once a week—typically on Tuesdays, though the day can vary. If you place an order just after an inspection, your plant may not ship for several days until the next one. Unfortunately, we’re not able to expedite this part of the process.

Also, due to USDA regulations, we’re unable to ship oak trees, citrus or fruit trees (except olive trees) to California. This rule helps prevent the spread of pests and diseases and applies to nurseries across the country.

Thanks for your patience—we’ll make sure it’s worth the wait.
