Winter Shipping Delays: What You Need to Know

At Simply Trees, we take extra care to ensure your plants arrive healthy and thriving, especially during cold weather. Here’s what you need to know about winter shipping:

Shipping Delays for Plant Safety

**Please Note: Our typical processing time is 1-3 business days, but during winter weather, shipments may be delayed to protect your plants. If you have questions about processing times, how they relate to your local weather, or potential shipping delays, feel free to contact us.

For sensitive plants like houseplants, fruit trees, and citrus trees, shipping times may vary based on your location and weather conditions. To ensure your plants arrive safely, we typically hold shipments if temperatures in your area are expected to drop below 20°F. Once temperatures improve to at least 20°F, we’ll ship your order as soon as possible.

If your order is delayed due to cold weather, we’ll keep you updated and send tracking details as soon as it ships. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help!

Winter Packaging: Heat Packs & Insulation

We use heat packs and insulation during the winter months to protect your plants. If you see a white bag with a red line inside your box, that’s the heat pack. Do not open it—simply discard it.

Carrier Delays

Sometimes shipping carriers experience delays that are out of our control. If your plant is affected, we’ll do our best to help make it right.

Track Your Shipment Closely

You’ll receive email updates at each step:

Please keep an eye on your inbox and bring your plant inside immediately to prevent exposure to the cold.

Plant Care Upon Arrival

Do not water your plants right away. Allow them to come to room temperature first.

Prefer to Wait Until Spring?

If you’d like us to hold your order until warmer weather, let us know, and we’ll be happy to accommodate.

We’re committed to getting your plants to you safe, healthy, and ready to thrive—no matter the season!
